Buy a Key
Promote and preserve live music at the Library Society! In the summer of 2011, the Library Society purchased a Steinway grand piano for the use of the many concerts we host. While a fantastic improvement over the expense and labour of piano rental, the Library is dependent on the generosity of donors to cover payments on the instrument to prevent its cost from eating into an already-thin arts budget.
To facilitate the purchase of our Steinway, we have started a "Buy a Key" initiative. Benefactors giving $100 will be recognized for buying a "key" on the keyboard of the Library's new piano: selling out the whole keyboard will help cover a down payment on a new instrument for the use of Unedited, chamber music, children's programming, and the many guest artisans performing in the Library Society.
